Within five minutes of meeting Kristin & Nick for their engagement session in downtown Kent back in the spring, I knew we were going to become friends. And in the months leading up to their beautiful September wedding at ThornCreek Winery & Gardens in Aurora, I would tell Jason each time I spoke to them on the phone: gosh, I love them! I was literally counting down the days until their best day ever!
Kristin & Nick live in Washington, D.C. and yet they planned the most beautiful early fall wedding back here in Ohio! From the breathtaking venue, to the gorgeous flowers made by Molly Taylor and Co., everything was perfect! I started the day by taking photos of all of Kristin’s beautiful details. Her shoes, invitations, jewelry and dress really set the stage for the rest of the day.
Kristin had her closest girlfriends come to the winery early to help her get ready, so we had to do a friend’s reveal once she got in her dress! These always turn out to be the cutest photos. Then, she did a reveal with her dad and it was the sweetest. After Kristin read a letter that Nick wrote her, it was time for their first look! You guys should know by now how I feel about first looks! (My favorite thing ever!) And this one had me all teary eyed! We immediately went into bride and groom portraits after the first look and had the best time walking and laughing all over the winery and taking photos!
Before we knew it, it was time for their outdoor ceremony. Luckily, Ohio weather cooperated and they had a beautiful day to say “I do” under the trees. After the ceremony, it was time for their reception, which was catered by Nosh Eatery. Let me tell you– BEST FOOD EVER! Seriously! Plus, the catering staff were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. And instead of having a signature cocktail, Kristin and Nick had pasta stations instead with a his and hers pasta. Amazing! With our bellies full, we snuck out into the field for some glowy sunset photos before dancing the night away!
Kristin & Nick: thank you both for such an amazing day! Jason and I couldn’t be more excited for the two of you as you start this next chapter in your love story. (Can you please move back to Ohio now?!) Enjoy some of our favorites below!
Oh, we had such fun! Great wedding, great pictures!
