Erin & Mat’s wedding day at the Vineyards at Pine Lake was perfect in every way! From their emotional first look to their sunset photos in the vineyards, everything was just beautiful! When I arrived at the Vineyards, Erin had her hair and makeup done already– and she was so calm– which is exactly how it should be on your wedding day! Once I gathered all of her details, I got to work!

While I was shooting the details, Erin & Mat both opened up gifts from each other. This is always such a special moment and I love documenting it. After the details, it was time to get ready for the first look! We went outside and Erin’s mom helped her put her jewelry on. After we took a few bridal portraits, we headed to the first look.

Mat’s reaction to seeing Erin for the first time was absolutely the sweetest thing. He looked at her with tears in his eyes and said, “Are you serious?” It was so sweet! From there, we went right into their portraits at several different spots around the venue. (And we had to dodge the falling acorns the entire time.) It became a running joke that someone may get a concussion during the photos! After that, their entire bridal party joined in on the fun!

The weather was absolutely beautiful and Erin & Mat were able to have their outdoor ceremony in front of their family and friends. They also did a tree ceremony and I absolutely loved this idea! They each had dirt from their childhood homes and placed it into a potted tree to be planted at their new home together. Isn’t that just the sweetest idea? After the ceremony, it was time to get the party started!

Mat’s best man did double duty and was also the DJ for the reception. He was amazing!! The dance floor was packed all night long and it legitimately felt like a club with the bright lights and smoke machine– so fun! There was also a special moment for Erin & her mom during the parent dances. Erin surprised her mom and asked her to dance with her to the song “You Should Be Here.” There wasn’t a dry eye in the room and I’m sure that Erin’s dad was looking down on both of them with a big smile on his face.

Per usual, I snuck the newlyweds out of the reception for a little bit to take a few sunset photos in the vineyards and can I just say they are my favorites of the day!! There’s something so special about taking a few moments to take these photos with the glowy sunset and just soak in the day without your guests around. It’s honestly my favorite part of any wedding day!
