Where do I even start with Alli and Tyler’s incredible wedding day in Chicago? From the minute I arrived to the bridal suite and saw the biggest smile on Alli’s face and watched her literally jump up and down with happiness, I knew it was going to be the best day!

I’ve know Alli since 2008 when I went down to visit my best friend at Miami University. Alli was one of the first people I met there and she’s the type of person that once you know her, your friends for life. She truly has the biggest heart and is one of the kindest humans I know! Fun fact, four year ago, when I was in Chicago photographing a mutual friends wedding, Alli came up to me and said “I can’t wait for you to be my wedding photographer someday!” And on July 3rd, I’m happy to say it came true!

But that’s not to say that we got to their wedding day without a few bumps in the road. Earlier this year, the original venue Alli and Tyler had booked for their wedding told them they were no longer hosting events for the remainder of the year. I’ll never forget getting the text from Alli and being so devastated for them. But in typical Alli fashion, she was optimistic and said they were working on a plan B that would be amazing.

Instead of finding another venue last minute, Alli and Tyler decided to have a backyard wedding and reception at their new home they bought this year. Talk about sentimental!! And what’s even better is that they bought a house across the street from her parent’s! Their ceremony was in the backyard of her parent’s house, the house that she grew up in- which if you ask me, is the sweetest spot to get married! From there, we headed to the cul-de-sac for cocktail hour, which was shut down to traffic! After that, we headed to the most beautiful tent in the newlyweds backyard for a night of dancing and partying! It truly was the best day ever!!! And if you ask me, their backyard wedding was even more perfect than their original plan.
