fall wedding at the georgetown: boardman, ohio | valerie & adithya

Have you ever met a couple for the first time and thought to yourself “no wonder they found each other, they’re the perfect match”? Well that’s exactly how I felt when I met Valerie & Adithya on their fall wedding day. I typically meet my couples during their engagement session, but their story is unique and this wasn’t the case. Valerie & Adithya were married in India back in May in front of their closest family and friends. And let me tell you- the photos are absolutely breathtaking! But the couple wanted to celebrate their love back in Ohio as well, so they decided it would be the perfect opportunity to have a second wedding!

Even though they were already married, Valerie and Adithya still chose to do a first look and I was so excited! Just because you’re married, doesn’t make the moment any less special. Plus, Valerie was going to be wearing a different outfit for her Ohio ceremony so it was perfect. When she showed up to Fellows Riverside Gardens just minutes before the first look, she was dressed in a green dinosaur onesie and I knew right then and there that she was going to be one of my favorite brides. Adithya’s reaction to her outfit was the best! They laughed together so much and I think that says a lot about their playful relationship. This was my first time seeing the two of them together and I wouldn’t have it any other way! After revealing her wedding dress underneath the onesie, Valerie said: “Now you know why I told you to not look at the recent Amazon purchases!”

After their first look, we went right into portraits for just the two of them and I love how they turned out. Adithya told me before I started taking photos that if I was able to get two good photos of him, that he would be happy. Challenge accepted! (Adithya- just so you know, you don’t take a bad photo my friend!) Immediately after their portraits, we walked up to a huge crowd of their family and friends waiting for the group photos to begin. These photos were so important to Valerie & Adithya and even though we had to take a lot of photos in a short window of time, we made it work perfectly! Plus the overcast, crisp fall weather helped!

Then it was time for the main event! We packed up and headed straight to The Georgetown for their ceremony and reception. The decorations on the tables, I have to say, are my all-time favorites. Handmade origami from the bride, various postcards for guests to fill out (including some from the Hot Dog Shoppe) and Fiestaware cups filled with succulents adorned the tables and I was in love. Valerie and I are from the same hometown- so if you’re reading this and you know what Fiestaware is and you’ve eaten at the Hot Dog Shoppe- then chances are you’re also from East Liverpool!

After the reception, I snuck the newlyweds out for a few more portraits and I’m so glad I did because they are my favorites from the day. In the back parking lot of the reception venue, there was the a small patch of beautiful yellow and purple flowers. I told Valerie & Adithya that I wasn’t crazy and had a vision!

Stay tuned for part two of their blog post featuring the brunch at Valerie’s family cabin where everyone camped that night!

Valerie & Adithya- Thank you both for having having us document your Ohio wedding day! It was such a wonderful celebration and Jason and I couldn’t be happier for the two of you. We hope you love your photos!
